Heya friends!
I'm back again with another super special facial mask recipe for you this week. And this late into summer, we're looking to nurture and pamper our skin. So what do you need this week? A non-metal bowl and spoon, your Skin Boost or Skin Detox Clay Mask Powder (depending on your skin type), and one ripe avocado.
What you need to know: Buying avocados are about as close as I get to gambling, haha! Choose an avocado that, when squeezed, gives just a little. If it's too firm, you'll have to let it sit on your counter or in a paper bag for a couple of days to soften up. On the contrary, you'll find the inside brown, mushy, and sometimes even stringy or already growing mold if it's too soft.
Because Avos are rich in antioxidants and vitamins, an avocado face mask can provide many benefits to your complexion, including healing acne and inflammation. For normal or acne-prone skin, the oils in avocados are known as non-pore-clogging when worn for short periods, so if you're acne prone, be sure to blend it with your Skin Detox Clay Mask Powder and limit your mask to 10 minutes.
For dry, aging, or mature skin types, avocados are a well-known healthy fat. When applied to the skin, those natural oils soothe, nourish and hydrate effectively, reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
I invite you to exfoliate after sunset, giving your skin several hours before being exposed to sunlight the next day, and do not forget your sunscreen!
Using a non-metal bowl and spoon, blend:
⭒ use 1 tsp of Skin Boost Clay Mask Powder for aging/mature or normal skin types or
⭒ use 1 tsp Skin Detox Clay Mask Powder for normal or combo skin
⭒ 2+ Tbs of freshly mashed avocado
⭒ Blend to make a paste, add more clay or avo until you get a rich, thick consistency
⭒ Apply your avo clay mask to clean, dry skin, then sit back and relax for up to 20 minutes. Be sure to discard any leftover clay mask, blending a new, fresh mask each time
⭒ Rinse well with warm water, making sure you've removed all your avo clay mask
⭒ Follow up with the rest of your skincare practice, toner, serum, and a gentle facial massage with your favorite moisturizing face oil
xo,
Michelle
