Face Mask Friday: Greek Yogurt Clay Mask

Face Mask Friday: Greek Yogurt Clay Mask

TGIF beauties! This week I'm here with another clay mask recipe using a pretty basic kitchen ingredient. And the recipe is simple enough you'll want to whip it up tonight for a moisturizing exfoliation treatment.

Exfoliating once or twice a week is an essential part of a balanced skincare practice. Regular exfoliation increases circulation in the skin giving your complexion a healthy, brighter appearance. It also promotes the shedding of dead skin cells, giving our skin that glow and aids in the absorption of our skincare products.

This week we're mixing our clay mask powder with chilled Full Fat Greek Yogurt. Making plain, unsweetened yogurt a part of your skincare practice can benefit your complexion when used topically and when added to your diet.

Lactic acid found in dairy is an excellent mild introduction to AHA (alpha-hydroxy acids). You can mix yogurt into your clay mask of choice for an exceptionally gently exfoliating treatment, and the full-fat content of your yogurt won't leave your skin feeling dry.

Watch this IGTV to learn more about how yogurt can be part of your regular beauty practice.

Like always, I invite you to exfoliate after sunset, giving your skin several hours before being exposed to sunlight the next day, and on these sweltering, sunny, active days, do not forget your sunscreen!

Always using a non-metal bowl and spoon when mixing clay masks, blend:

⭒ For Oily, Acne-prone or Combination Skin start with 1/2 tsp or one heaping wood skincare spoon of Skin Detox Clay Mask

⭒ For Normal, Combination, Mature or Dry Skin start with 1/2 tsp or one heaping wood skincare spoon of Skin Boost Clay Mask

⭒ For Very Sensitive Skin skip the clay mask powder and opt for just a plain yogurt mask. Keeping minimal ingredients in your skincare is best.

⭒ Add 1 tsp chilled full-fat unsweetened plain greek yogurt to make a paste, adding more clay or yogurt until you get a rich, thick consistency.

⭒ Apply your fresh mask to clean, dry skin, then sit back and relax for 5 to 15 minutes, depending on how sensitive your skin is

⭒ When you're ready, rinse well with warm water, making sure you've removed all your clay mask and follow up with the rest of your skincare practice, toner, serum, and a gentle facial massage with your favorite moisturizing face oil

Important to note!! Be sure to discard any leftover clay mask, blending a new, fresh clay mask each week.

xo,

Michelle
