This weekend's invitation for self-care is a super-indulgent facial mask and one of my all-time favorites.
What do you need this week? A non-metal bowl and spoon, your Skin Boost or Skin Detox Clay Mask, Raw Cacao Powder, and Organic Coconut Milk.
Who's this good for: as long as you have no known allergies or sensitivities to the ingredients listed, it's worth a try. Super moisturizing and packed with antioxidants, this blend smells amazing so if you have any leftover try applying the clay mask to the back of your hands.
Raw Cacao's high levels of antioxidants, aid in improving the appearance of our skin's complexion. Antioxidants protect and repair the skin from damage and premature aging. Its powerful anti-inflammatory properties soothe redness and blemishes.
Coconut Milk is magic ingredient number two, its high levels of Vitamin C can help maintain the elasticity and flexibility of our skin. It is also rich in copper and helps prevent wrinkles, sagging skin, and age spots. We love coconut milk because it can be an effective cleanser for removing dirt and debris from your pores while nourishing your complexion in the process.
As always, I invite you to exfoliate after sunset, giving your skin several hours before being exposed to sunlight the next day, and do not forget your sunscreen!
Using a non-metal bowl and spoon, blend:
⭒ 1/2 tsp Raw Cacao Powder
⭒ 1/2 tsp Skin Detox or Skin Boost Clay Mask
⭒ 1/2 - 1 Tbs of Organic Coconut Milk ( I use canned from Trader Joes)
⭒ Blend to make a thick paste, add more clay or coconut milk to get a rich, thick consistency.
⭒ Apply mask to clean, dry skin, then sit back and relax for 5 to 15 minutes
⭒ Rinse well with warm water, making sure you've removed all your clay mask
⭒ Follow up with the rest of your skincare practice, toner, serum, and a gentle facial massage with your favorite moisturizing face oil.
If you make time for self-care this weekend be sure you snap a pic to post on Instagram or Facebook, sometimes we get off track and don't make time to fill our cup and our posts become reminders of things we've made time for and how that made us feel. Like flipping through the pages of a photo album.
And tag us if you prioritize and document your weekend self-care practices! Your posts inspire me!
