We all know that how we choose to start the day has an effect our energy and mood all day long... Somedays start with a pot of coffee, others with warm lemon water or a super mushroom hot cocoa but today I'm starting the day with my favorite nutrient-dense green juice. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My husband and I like to make fresh juice about 1 or 2 x's a week and today I'm sharing our go-to recipe.
It tastes bright & vibrant, it's low in sugar and this recipe makes enough for 2 people. And if you share, don't forget to clink your glasses together and cheers to your health.
1/2 - 1 bunch of kale⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2 lemons⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2 cucumbers⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2 green apples⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4 stalks of celery⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
a 1 inch piece of ginger
If you haven't gotten on the juicing train it's certainly worth a try! You don't have to start out buying an expensive juicer either, just visit your nearest local juice bar and start by testing out different blends they offer.
My suggestion: I try to stay away from the juices that are high in sugar or full of fruit juices. I don't tend to have difficulty eating my daily allowance of fresh fruits and I find them better when eaten with all their natural fiber. I always try juices that are mostly veggies and will opt for their freshest batch made when I'm trying to decide.
The two most noticeable benefits are that I find juices to be filling, easily taking the place of a light meal and helps the body with elimination, yes pooping. If you have a sluggish digestive system and don't naturally poop everyday a fresh pressed juice might just get you in a pattern of more regular eliminations.
