"Golden Beauty, Radiant, Rosehip Oils, and Plumping Serum... when & how would be best to use them all?" Did you see the blog post we shared this week called "Q&A Golden Beauty Oil vs. Radiant Beauty Oil Moisturizers?"
We began to answer this question by separating our moisturizers from our treatment serums, then went into a deep dive on which might suit your skin best. If you missed it, you can find that here. Today I hope to wrap things up by demystifying our treatment serum options for you.
Skincare serums are usually a lightweight cosmetic preparation, especially for use on the face, which is why they tend to absorb quickly into the skin, making them an excellent next step after cleansing & toning skin.
So how exactly do we use them, and when?
- A basic skincare practice consists of 1. cleansing, 2. toner, 3. moisturizer, and 4. sunscreen in the morning.
- An upgraded skincare practice would consist of 1. cleansing, 2. toner, 3. treatment serums, 4. moisturizer, and 5. sunscreen in the morning.
Treatment serums are chosen based on your skin's need for the results they deliver. There's no need to add extra steps to your skincare practice unless you have areas of your skin that need treatment and are looking for specific results. So now on to the fun stuff, let's deep dive into our COSMIC treatment serums!
Organic Rosehip Oil + carrot seed oil serum, often just called our Rosehip Oil Serum, is packed with antioxidants and rich in beta carotene, Vitamins A, E, C, and pro-vitamin A, and essential fatty acids like Omega 3 and 6. So who can benefit from our Organic Rosehip Oil blend? People like me working to improve damaged skin in need of repair. With regular daily use, morning and night, I've seen a brightening in my aging, sun-damaged skin and a lightening of my hyperpigmentation spots. Long used to heal wounds and reduce the appearance of scars, it's hard to deny the plant magic organic rosehip oil and cold pressed carrot seed oil has on the skin.
Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin B5 Serum, often loving called our COSMIC Plumping Serum, is more science than plant magic. When we talk hyaluronic acid, we're talking about a significant hydration booster. If you want healthier, smoother, plumper, younger-looking skin, hyaluronic acid promises to help reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles by creating a plumping effect in skin cells. So who can benefit from our Plumping Serum blend? People like me who want to treat signs of premature aging brought on by drying or dehydration in the skin, an actual deficit of water in the skin's cells. Formulated with vitamin B5, it protects and hydrates skin, helping increase cell production. And when used in combination with a high-quality oil moisturizer like our Golden Beauty or Radiant Oil, it creates a barrier that protects the skin from moisture loss to smoother, plumper, more hydrated skin on a cellular level.
So what if you wanted to add them both!! You'd apply the Hyaluronic Acid Plumping Serum first, then the Rosehip Oil Serum. If you've ever sat with me through a skincare consultation, you know we apply skincare products in order of their viscosity. Because our plumping serum is water-based, you would apply it first in order to receive the most benefits from the formulation, then follow up with your Rosehip Oil serum, followed by your moisturizer of choice. Apply an oil first would certainly block out some of the magic from your water-based formulations.
